Anti roll bars (sway / stabiliser bars) are designed to reduce the car's body from rolling in the corners. Body roll is bad. It puts more weight on the outside tyres and less weight on the inside tyres. This reduces traction! Anti roll bars reduce body roll and help to keep the car flat through the corner so that the weight stays distributed evenly on all four tyres, which helps the car grip the road!
